Meet Kevin
Kevin Richtik is a Brooks Institute of Photography graduate and the owner of Stockton-based photography studio Caroline Photography. He began working at the studio in 1986 as a wedding assistant to founder Caroline Beebe and became the owner in 2010, continuing a legacy of professional photography that spans decades.
Over the course of his career, Kevin has photographed thousands of local families and worked with a wide range of regional and national companies. His photography has appeared in numerous publications, and Kodak has featured his work in worldwide advertising to showcase its products. The studio has been recognized as a Best of San Joaquin winner more than thirty times.
In addition to his portrait and commercial photography, Kevin creates a wide range of fine art images, from sweeping landscapes of the San Joaquin Valley and destinations around the world to thoughtfully composed still life studies and architectural interpretations. His work reflects both technical mastery of light and composition and a deep appreciation for storytelling through imagery.
Kevin is also the creator of the ongoing Beauty of Stockton photo project, a weekly series that highlights the city’s unique and often overlooked strengths. The project has reached tens of thousands of viewers on social media and continues to grow, aiming to shift public perception by showcasing Stockton’s vibrant, positive spirit.
While photography has been Kevin Richtik’s lifelong passion, many of his favorite adventures have been shared with his wife, Tracy. After years of building their business and raising their family, they embraced the opportunity to in travel together, finding inspiration in destinations both close to home and around the world. From the canals of Amsterdam and the dramatic landscapes of Alaska to the beauty of California’s Central Valley, their travels have become an important source of inspiration for Kevin’s fine art photography.
Tracy has been an invaluable partner throughout Kevin’s career. Whether assisting behind the scenes, scouting locations, or patiently accompanying him as he waits for the perfect light, her encouragement, enthusiasm, and sense of adventure have played an important role in his creative journey. Together, they share a passion for discovering new places and finding beauty in the everyday—an outlook that continues to shape Kevin’s photography and inspire many of his creative projects.
Their journey together was featured as the cover story in Brookside Neighbors Magazine, where they shared how, after decades of balancing family life and building a successful photography business, they have embraced a new chapter centered on travel, creativity, and experiencing the world together. The article celebrates not only Kevin’s passion for photography but also the partnership that has made so many of those memorable adventures—and photographs—possible.
